Lotus Europa S1: Moving the 821

 

This post is all about getting my 821 engine down a flight of stairs.

 

 

As you can see the spare engine and gearbox were covered in oil, sand and general filth. Because I had to get the engine into my basement workshop, I tried to clean off the majority of all the dirt while the engine was in the garage.

 

I used a hoist to get the engine up in the air to help me remove the gearbox.

 

Here’s the gearbox removed from the engine.

 

 

I unbolted all the ancillaries to make the engine lighter to be able to carry it down the staircase.

 

 

 

This are all the things I took off the engine.

 

 

Ready for transport!

 

Finally in the basement, this is were it will sit for the time being.

 

My dad helped me to get some new wall sockets installed at my workbench, they will come in handy!
